Plain-language terms for print books and ebooks purchased directly from Crooked Spine Press.
Printing and shipping
Books are printed to order. Shipping charges and delivery windows come from the carrier at checkout. Delivery dates are estimates, not guarantees. Tracking is emailed when the carrier makes it available.
Pre-orders
Your card is charged when you place a pre-order. The order is held for the release and moves into production at the appropriate time. If your basket contains a pre-order, the entire shipment waits for that title.
Address changes
Check your address carefully before payment. We can try to correct an address only before an order enters production. Once printing or dispatch begins, carrier and reprint charges may apply.
Returns and damaged copies
Because each copy is printed for you, change-of-mind returns are not generally accepted after production begins, except where applicable consumer law provides a cancellation or return right. If a book arrives damaged, misprinted, or materially defective, contact us within 14 days of delivery with your order reference and clear photos. We will arrange a replacement or refund when the claim is verified. This policy does not limit your statutory rights.
Cancellations
Contact us immediately. We can cancel and refund only while the order has not progressed too far into production. Payment processing fees and work already completed may be non-refundable where permitted by law. Any rights provided by applicable consumer law remain unaffected.
Ebooks and downloads
EPUB purchases are delivered through a private order page after payment is verified. The download itself uses a short-lived secure link. Keep your order page private and save a local backup of the file. Test-mode payments do not unlock production files.
Because digital delivery begins immediately, ebook purchases are generally final once the download is made, except where applicable law requires a cancellation, refund, or remedy. If the file is corrupt or materially different from the listing, contact us with the order reference so we can replace it or resolve the purchase.
Privacy
We use your contact and delivery details to take payment, prevent fraud, print your order, provide tracking, and support the purchase. Stripe processes payment details. Our production, fulfillment, and carrier partners receive only the information required to make and deliver the order. We do not sell your personal information or add you to a marketing list because you bought a book.
